A Collection of Poems and Short Stories
Long before birds soared the heavens
Long before the winds roared in silence
A time when freedom was to be fought
A time when hope was yet to be sought
A bird so naive came to be
Whose only wish was to set out free
Soar across that vast blue sky
And become the first bird to ever fly
A foolish wish, it may seem
But only that bird dared to dream
For what it saw in those storm-walled winds
Was the chance to finally thrust its wings
The time came as the bird sets out to soar
Across the heavens like never before
But what came wasn't a wish fulfilled
As the bird soared into a windless field
The bird's naivety came to end
As it lost its chance to fly again
No longer will it see the sky it yearns
Neither will the bird be destined to return
